We’re always secretly jealous of those girls with a cute braided hairstyle we see out in the street, but we somehow end up opting for a quick ponytail look instead. That is, until now! With practice, the braided crown hairstyle can take all of 5 to 10 minutes. Yet, some beginners find it super difficult and tricky to do. That’s why this tutorial is designed in a way to suit both professionals and those who have no idea what are doing with their hair in front of the mirror. You’ll need several things before you begin: bobby pins, two clear rubber bands and a light textured hairspray.
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Part a hair section from your left side just behind your year. To make a French braid, divide this section into three strands. Cross the right strand over the centre strand and then cross the left strand over the centre strand.
Step 2: Following the same technique, continue braiding until you reach the end. Secure your braid with clear hair elastic at the end.
Step 4: Use the same braiding method to add another braid on the other side of your head, just behind your right ear.
Step 5: Pull the second braid under the first one so they meet in the middle.
Step 6: Pin down the edges to prevent the braid from falling down.
Step 7: Create volume on top by carefully loosening some hair pieces with a comb. If you have bangs or shorter layers, you can either leave them hanging loosely or clip them in place using a bobby pin. For a softer look, pull a few face framing pieces out so that your crown braid has a softer, more elegant look.
Step 8: Apply light hairspray all over your hair. Now you are ready to go out and show off your amazing new hairstyle!
