Lace Rose Braid Hairstyle

In case you haven’t noticed yet, the half-up bun hairstyles have been spotted everywhere for the past few months – beauty blogs, Instagram pictures, Pinterest pins, and even on red carpet events. If you want to achieve the ever famous half-up, half-down bun, then this tutorial will guide you throughout the way. What is more, it will show how to create a gorgeous lace rose braid hairstyle – the perfect look for any special occasion!

Step 1: Tease several sections of your hair, starting from the centre top and working your way to backwards. To add volume to your hair, simply hold a section of your hair straight upward, place the comb in the roots and apply firm brush strokes downward to the scalp. Use hairspray to secure the volume. Repeat the procedure with the next section of hair.

Step 2: Place the front sections of your hair over the second. Use the brush to comb the volume gently. Gather the layers with a bobby pin and add extra hairspray if necessary.

Step 3: Create a beautiful braid on your right side. No braiding skills? No problem! Divide the hair into three strands. Cross the right strand under the centre strand and then cross the left strand under the centre strand. After one stitch, begin incorporating new hair pieces into the braid.

Step 4: Following the same technique, continue braiding and adding more hair to your braid by picking up small strands from the pinned hairs into the braid.

Step 5: When you reach the end of the braid, tie it with a rubber band.

Step 6: Follow the same method to add another braid on your left side. This way you will create two relatively equal braids on each side.

Step 7: Loosely pull on the edges of the braid to add volume in it.

Step 8: Grab your right braid and roll it up to form a beautiful bun. For best results, start with a small circle and keep wrapping the braid over it. Secure the bun with a bobby pin.

Step 9: Now wrap the left braid on the sides of the bun, creating a big rose shape.

Step 10: When you are satisfied with the final result, add pins on the sides to make the rose bun more stable. As a final touch, you can apply firm-hold hairspray all over your hair.
