Braided Crown Hairstyle

Looking for a great and yet lazy way to style your hair for the hot summer months? Search no more! This tutorial will show you how to achieve the famous half-up, half-down braided crown hairstyle in just 10 minutes. Although it works best on medium-length hair, it looks amazing even on very long hair. So, why don’t you give it a try and make the most out of this amazing tutorial?

Step 1: Begin by brushing your hair to remove any knots and tangles. Then, add volume to your hair. To achieve this, grab a section of your hair, hold it straight upward and place a comb in the roots. Apply firm brush strokes downward to the scalp. Use hairspray to secure the volume. Repeat the procedure with the next sections of hair. Use the brush to comb the volume gently. Add extra hairspray if necessary.

Step 2: To get this half-up, half-down hairstyle you have to make four individual braids on top of your head. Grab a relatively small section of your hair on your right hand side. Divide the strand into 3 equal sections and cross them while making a small braid. Continue braiding tightly in the traditional pattern and use a small black rubber band to secure your braid when you reach the end.

Step 3: Next, grab another section of your hair on your right hand side, right next to the braid you just made. Start braiding and secure with a rubber band at the end. Continue by braiding another two braids on your left hand side using the same technique.

Step 4: Secure all four braids into one loose ponytail braid by using a rubber band. To create an inside-out elegant effect, use your fingers to make a space right above the rubber band and pull all the braids at once down through the hole.

Step 5: Finish off your look by adding wavy curls to your hair. Use a curling iron and wrap a medium section around the iron. Release the curl after about 10-15 seconds and continue the process with the other strands of hair. Once you are satisfied with the final result, finger comb the strands to make them looser and more casual. This is a great way to get some bouncy waves that look like overnight curls. Set your fabulous braided crown hairstyle with some hairspray and you are done!
